I don't even slightly agree- the statement is simply incorrect.
Government in the USA (and most of the world) is secular, it's based upon our understanding of facts, upon reason and thinking- not speculation about things which can't be proven- THAT's where faith comes in. This statement might be appropriate for an institution like the Vatican, but definitely not government.
In fact, this question is a better fit for religion and spirituality than Politics & Government ;)

I agree with the 2Nd half about the faithful needing no explanations. the 1st half is completely wrong, people without faith always try to find explanations for anything they don't understand

I guess so. It seems very plausible to me. Does it trouble you? Can you think of an example other than say belief in God that might work for you? For example unconditional love for a very incapacitated person. I think it is cool that you are "deep thinking" things like this over. Good for you!
