Its huge and mostly grey........Zach Morris had one in "saved by the bell".........If I was able to find this phone would i be able to use it or is it too outdated?

I'm guessing we're talking about the old Motorola "brick" phone? The DynaTAC. It's still usable in areas w/ significant AMPS (analog) coverage, esp out in the rural West. Urban areas, not many systems left. Frequency reuse for increased capacity, you know? I'll very occasionally get an analog signal, but not often.

You might have a hard time finding batteries for the brick, but you could try to contact Moto or surf eBay for those golden unopened packages.

It would be outdated. About two years ago congress passed a law requiring all cell phones to have some tracking capabilities for 911 purposes. From that date new phones were no longer created that didn't have this feature.

If you had an old phone you could continue using it. The system was grandfathered in.
