Im 37 weeks pregnant and at my last doctor appointment my doctor said i was diliating and she wouldnt be suprised to see me back to have the baby before my next appointment. I think she was just getting my hopes up....but for the past 2 days i have been getting really bad headaches and the contractions are starting to really hurt, i know that this could mean nothing and it could still be weeks before i go into labor, but it also hurts alot when i need to pass a bowel movement..has anyone experienced that before?....im pretty sure the baby dropped its not much easier to breathe but my stomach looks alot different, how much longer till labor do you think? or are these symptoms not good predictors?

Well it sounds to me like you are close, the headaches are a concern to me, because of blood pressure, I think maybe you need to be checked for your blood pressure and if the headaches are frequent then I would suggest you go ASAP! As for the contractions you will know when it is the real thing, but please go have your blood pressure check ASAP!!!! Good Luck and CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!

Hard to say . But better see doctor for the headache and the pain when there is bowel movement.

Once the baby dropped , this is the hardest time as far as physical movement and well being is concerned. But it may carry on for a few days before actual labor.

As for the contraction. it will have to be very short & consistence interval.
it will start with a longer interval between each contraction, gradually getting shorter , till it is persistently consistence and very regular contraction.
.
normally , blood stain will be seen , or waterbag burst for the real labor . These are all the symptoms common to the majority.

I went into labor at 38 1/2wks. I saw the Dr on a Wed, had dialated and she said she wouldn't be surprised to see me before my next appt, which was the following Wed. My baby was born 9 days early and the following Mon. Baby had dropped about a week prior. I was told once baby drops, labor usually begins within a week. Either way, within the next 5 weeks you will be a Mom. Good Luck!

I've delivered two children and I don't remember any issues revolving around painful bowl movements. Biut I would think that could be a concern. The baby may have dropped and is in a position where it interferes with your bowels. You say you are having contractions? What is your due date? It sounds like you are overdue.

be careful, headaches are usually a sign of pre-term labor. Also pain during bowel movements are not normal. Call your doctor's office to get a medical opinion. Good Luck, my wife is due this Saturday.

If you are having contractions, make sure you time them. My doctor always told me that if they are 10 minutes apart to go to the hospital. But my friends doc told her 5 minutes apart. Either way, when they start getting real close together go to the hospital. Good Luck.
