My biggest sacrifice would be giving my life for the one I love. However if you are talking everyday general stuff. The person I love would never ask me to stay away from my family however if you are just talking temporaly like working abroad. We moved to Germany for my husbands job I didn't see it as a sacrifice I saw it as sticking by my mate. He comes before everyone including the children. and letting someone go because you think they will be happier with another is pretty arogant don't ya think? Let them decide who they want to be with

Luckily I haven't had to make such a sacrifice, but my partner has.
She won't live close to her family because when she came out to her mother, her mother asked her to never tell her father or brother. Stupid request in my opinion, but it's her family. I know she loves them, but she also won't move near them if I and our son can't be accepted as a whole unit.
Her father has been very ill with diabetes related illnesses and I know it hurts her that she can't be there for him.

I have never been in love with someone, but I am sure that I will do many sacrifices when I find that person.

I'm a straight woman, mom of five. My former husband, father of them all, treated them okay but treated me very badly. I believe he's in the closet and just refuses to be honest.

The court said I had no grounds to put him out of the house against his will, and he refused to leave. In order that the kids not have to move, and that they get to stay with one of us, I agreed to move out alone, but "just" to three blocks away. It broke my heart to lose my marriage and living with my kids, and the kids weren't thrilled, but it has been for the best for all of us, because if I had stayed with their dad I would have killed myself. I had no way to take them with me -- not enough money or room.

But it was hard to give up their company, and I didn't deserve not to have my kids live with me, after all my emotional investment in their young years and then to miss out on their company in these middle and later years. When we split four years ago, they were 8, 11, 14, 17 and 18.

I lost my life as I knew it, but "(s)he who loses his life for My sake will find it, and he who keeps his life will lose it."

And I even showed my love for my ex, by not trying to make him change but just letting him go.
