To me, even though I am a Ford fan, he made Holden King of the Mountain (Mt Panorama) and definitely has a following bigger than any other racecar driver I can think of in Australia.

For me the biggest achievement of Peter Brock's amazing life was using his popularity to start the Peter Brock Foundation....which supported the people of Australia, and their medical issues, those down on their luck to be able to have transport and assistance when it came to needing hospitalisation. (I myself being one of these people as a teenager.......)

Onya Perfect, we'll miss ya mate....thanks for all your care and support throughout the years.....

you are so right because of peter brock I am now a Holden fan I was too young to care much about cars up until I saw him drive I fell in love with his GTR XU1 and always wanted one never got one but even now when I see one I fall in love especially if its in good condition. I love all Holden's especially the older ones. I will miss him he is the king of the mountain and always will be. His greatest achievement wow that is so hard I really could not tell ya that as not only was he the best of the best he was a wonderful person as well.

In our house I was a Holden fan and my brother like you was a ford fan so I would be yelling come on Brockie and he would be yelling come on somebody else. My mum use to laugh at both of us.

I think Brocky's greatest achievement would be the inspiration he provided to other younger and less experienced drivers both on the track and off.

He always said that there were more important things than simply winning and was respected and admired for his genuine interest and support for fellow drivers.

He drove fast and he drove well - RIP Peter, last week was a black week for Australia.

i think that Peter Brock had many achievement in his life, it would be hard to pick just one.

He won Bathurst 9 times, as well as winning Sandown 9 times.

He started driving for the love of it, and made a career out of it, i dont think that there is many other Australia drives who could say that and also who are as famous as Brockie.

He will be remember for ever, and also will be sorely missed by all who knew him.

Shock horror! The Holden man. Feel he was always in the lounge room when I was growing up.

No greatest achievement comes to mind, just many fond memories.

RIP Peter

Brocky had the ability to motivate people. He spent countless hours with our Olympic team and gave of himself.
His achievements behind the wheel were amazing, however his people skills made him an extraordinary bloke.
In many ways he and Steve were alike. Both engaged in dangerous occupations, but showed tremendous humility at the same time.

If you ask any 'non-brock' fans, he cheated to win Bathurst twice. The first time he blew up his engine so he couldn't race, he threw a team mate out of his car, came first and 'won' the race. The second time, something similar happened, managed to come third in his team mates car, sued to organisers of bathurst so 1st and 2nd were disqualified. What a hero.

I think there is too much emphasis on celebrities and sports stars being 'better' than the common man. In this case its true, the man was good a driving cars, that makes him talented, not a hero.

i admired peter brock for his sportsman like behaviour and how he did a lot of work for charity.

he is definitely the king of the mountain winning nine bathursts, which i was lucky enough to be there for two of them. i have a pic of peter with my two sons which i will cherish forever.
