Ok, I will be honest.
They had more money, some were very racist so watch how you act around them, but my parents also told me there's groups like that in all groups. They were nicer and less tough (or belligerent). They had better manners. My parents really weren't against white people like a lot of other kids I knew, that thought they were ALL racist or whatever. My parents worked around a whole bunch of white people and I had white people in my family especially on my father's side, I never heard anything from him. My mother basically, but it was never anything vulgar or rude. And I thank them for that. I don't consider the things I've learned from them racist or anything, it really didn't affect me and doesn't affect how I think of whites today anymore. No matter what my parents were aware that each race had it's good and it's bads including ours, and they let me know their opinions on that. :)

Of course that's not all they taught me, of course it wasn't about race all the time. But I'm sure you mean by remarks that lots of parents seem to make about racial groups and stuff, and what I got from that. And that was it.

I was being honest.

Nothing. Just be nice to everyone we meet. My mother didn't like us talking about people especially if we knew nothing about them. However, growing up I did hear things about whites and I still hear them now. I would hear that the white man can't be trusted because he's always out to get you, some are racist (it's 2006 and some are still racist here in the south), they don't clean, they're filthy, they're food taste bad, they kiss their pets in the mouth, they think they smarter than everyone else, they lie, they cheat, they steal..... I can go on and on about the things I've heard in my 21 years of living but overall we were taught to treat everyone with respect and like we would want to be treated.

hope this helps
