Any cell phone or laptop or PDA etc. etc. that gets wet has to be turned off and all batteries removed IMMEDIATELY ...

Water shorts out all the chips and traces on the unit and if the batteries are in place the electricity will fry everything continually...

You have to open the case and use a hair dryer to gently heat the unit over a day or two to get rid of every trace of water BEFORE you put back the batteries or apply power....

dude the best advice is take the cell phone apart. if you have a nokia you wont have any problem doing that..but if you have a different phone or a flip phone there might be some tools needed. once you have opened your phone try and blow dry your phone and leave it out for a few days....(WHAT EVER YOU DO TRY NOT TO TOUCH THE CUIRCIT BOARD) That will fry the board and your cell phone will be use less.

Yep.
Step #1 ... Take out the SIM chip
Step #2 ... Throw the old, soggy phone away.
Step #3 ... Go to your cell phone provider.
Step #4 ... Buy a new phone.
Step #5 ... Remember that cell phones don't swim and they don't bounce!

Usually when something electronic gets wet if you let it completely dry before trying to use it you might get away with it. About all you can do is take it apart and spray it down with electrical contact spray and hope for the best.

Put it in the fridge. The cold, dry air will dry it out. Just read about it in the Kansas City Star.

All you can do is dry it out for a week or so, turn it on and try it. Sometimes it will work sometimes not...luck of the draw.
