The first answer is right to check if it is a DVD instead of a CD. Your work drive may read both and your home one only CDs.

If that does not help, you could buy a reasonably cheap USB flash drive, copy the files from the disk to the USB drive while at work, and then read / copy with your home computer from the USB drive.

You either don't have the software on your computer to read the cd or it is not set up for the files on the cd. Check which program runs the cd at work and see if you have this. You could also look at the extensions on the files on the cd and search for a program that will open them.

Check the spped compatibility. Probably your home cd rom is little bit old and not compatible with new cd's . When you are writing a CD, try to use the lower speed like 10x that will be able to read from any drive.

If you tried it in another computer, then its obviously your cd rom drive. But to be sure, try the cd in at least 2 other computers besides yours. Another thing it myte b, is that you have a cd rom drive, and the homemade cd myte actually b a homemade dvd.
