Go to Uni, study engineering (mechanical/aeronautical), and while studying, try to get yourself involved in some form of motor sport locally and get your hands dirty working on the car. Kick *** in the uni degree, go to England, (or study there), and apply for apprenticeship or work experience at some of the British formula racing. Get some experience, get some connections, work with important people, climb up the ladder and get to F1 eventually. Good luck.

You will need a mechanical engineering degree with a specialization in automotive engineering from an accredited university. So study hard in high school especially in physics and math. Go to a highly ranked automotive engineering school. I know Virginia Tech has a great program. I don't know what other schools are good for automotive engineering.

Step one is to graduate from automotive engineering school while working on someone's race team during your free time. All the book learning is useless without experience in the field. Be really smart and understand what the car is doing on the track, then keep talking with race teams to find out who may be interested in hiring you.
