MONEY, the team leader makes about 2 bucks an hour less than a manager and usually does the same amount of work

If you look in the websters dictionary under lead and manage it says under both to direct the operations or affairs. So basicly there isn't any difference. Now morally some managers get extremely big swelled heads and think they know everything however I know I know only a little bit of what the business is that I am in and I say as much to any new employee so that they don't get a big swelled head when they get really good at thier position. Still leaders are prone to the same thing except no one will tell them so because they are the leader and everyone thinks they are supposed to know eveything. When in reality they know as much as the next person . So there really isn't any difference.

A leader is noticed by the way he leads others by his/her performance at work, at school, at church, etc. Others follow the actions of a leader since they are inspired by the actions, not the words or demands.

A manager cannot manage people, people manage themselves. A manager can organize a team's elements (time, resources, abilities) then follows a plan to meet the objectives.

The best manager is a good leader!

Leaders are out front, showing the way.

Managers are simply arranging stuff.

There is no reason a person can't be a combination of the two. Most truly effective leaders are also good managers and most truly effective managers are also good leaders.

Both are acquired skills.

simple a manager is one who can handle a task of leadership as long as he is given directions on how to lead.
A leader leads by managing and doesn't need directions on how to manage.
Other than that I'd say about 3 buck and hour difference

A leader is one who causes others to follow, regardless of his/her official position in the group. A manager is in charge of the group, regardless of whether or not they are a leader.
