I don't think women dress "for" other women, but we may try to outdress other women. Some women definitely dress to attract men, while others just dress in what they really like so that they will only attract people with similar taste.

I think women dress for both men and women. and as for men dressing for other men I happen to know quite a few men who dress for men. I am a woman and just the other day I went out for dinner and a walk around the sea wall with my male friend and the deal was we were going to try to NOT to fight over the men.It was a great night.

I definitely think women think they dress for men, but subconsciously they actually dress for other women. Think of it as the male equivalent of sports cars: men think they're doing it to impress the ladies, but actually it's a primitive statement to show off for other men - like look at me - I'm cooler (or hotter) than you. The difference is that women are far more insecure and second guess themselves all the time while men think they are just wonderful if they show off.

I think women dress for other women, and another thing about women is they are absolutely cruel to one anotheer when it comes to clothes, hair, makeup, and just about everything. Women will sit and absolutely shoot down another woman on what shes wearing, and how she appears. While men, couldnt care if you showed up in a pair of ragedy cutoffs and a greasy shirt. Men just don't notice those things. Women will gossip for an hour about how terrible someone looks LOL

I think that women think they are dressing for men a lot of the time, but their view of what they think men want is influenced by the advertising industry. So, in reality, they are dressing for how the advertising industry says they should dress.

Men are not very discerning about what a women wears, so unless a woman is keen to attract male attention with tight shirts and short skirts, most women care more what other women think than what men think.

It is not hard to impress a guy with your clothes - but it IS hard to impress other women! THAT feels like an achievement.

Women tend to be competitive. I think some women dress for other women. Though it's not always the case. Some dress to impress both genders.

They dress for other women. Come on gals, haven't you figured out yet that men don't really care what the hell you're wearing? We just want to take it off anyway.

But other women can be intimidated by it, thus increasing status of the well dressed woman. Status = friends = better care for offspring.

When I go out, I want to look nice, but I don't dress for men or other women. I dress for myself. Even though I want to look good, I don't dress in something skin tight and heels. I want comfort. I go casual. You can look good in casual, too!

Women dress for themselves, so that they can feel good about themselves. In a way yes I agree that women do dress to feel attractive to men, but at the end of it all any respectful woman out there does it for herself, and to feel good about herself...not for any man.
