If this is something you've had all of your life chances are you are lactose intolerant. This means that your body lacks the enzyme to properly digest lactose. If you have had it all your life you are probably also experiencing a psychological reaction to the thought of consuming milk triggers an unconscious psychological reaction relating the way you feel after consuming milk with the smell, sight, and/or taste. Because you know you feel bad after drinking milk, you subconsciously feel sick when smelling it. You could try taking some over the counter medicines that help you or see your doctor about being lactose intolerant and s/he may recommend something else. Also lactose intolerance can be experienced in varying degrees of severity and that can also depend on how much lactose is consumed. For some there is mild stomach upset while for others it can lead to explosive diahreah. Just because you only have a stomach ache does not mean that it's not lactose intolerance. I'm lactose intolerant and the severity differs from day to day and also with how much dairy I've had. Also some are more succeptable to it. For example, some people with lactose intolerance only have problems when they consume milk and can switch to special milks that do not have lactose. For some, even special milks do not make a difference. Most people with lactose intolerance they are able to consume other dairy product such as cheese and yogurt however for me... I am not able to have milk, cheese, yogurt or any dairy product like that without experiencing mild to severe symptoms. You can always try soy milk intead. Silk is pretty good. It does not smell or taste like milk but tastes good enough that you don't mind drinking it or using it on your cereal.

You're probably lactose intolerant. I would guess that the reason it makes you sick to smell it is that you have developed an aversion to it, the same way you do if you eat a certain food right before you get sick. Your mind associates the feeling of being sick with the food, or in your case, milk with the stomach ache.

It's all in your head. Did you grow up drinking milk? I mean did you drink it as a young child? I noticed that children and teens no longer drink milk. My 15 year old niece hates milk, too. When I was growing up, my mom made me drink it for breakfast and dinner and I never had anything else to drink in the house. However, you can get calcium from other sources like; cheese, yogurt, milkshakes, ice cream, and green vegetables. Oh by the way, Have you tried strawberry or chocolate milk?

Sounds like you are slightly lactose intolerant. I've always hated the nasty after flavor that milk has. It also makes my intestines unhappy. As a kid I didn't know to put two and two together. Of course my mother was very pro "finish all your milk!"

Anyway, try soy milk. It won't upset your stomach. It's cheaper than pills. Oh, and it tastes better than cow milk.

maybe your body just can't handle milk, maybe some type of lactose intalerant. Try soy you get what you need out of it with out the upset you have with milk or if you really want milk which it doesn't sound like if you can handle the smell either, there are OTC pills to help with intalerance to milk. Either don't drink it or see a doctor about the pain.

Rotten milk does the same thing to me. If you were Lactose intolerant you would have more than a tummy ache. You would develop gas and it can get really bad as it tends to go right through your digestive system like it's a flame thrower. . .

THETEABEGREEN, good idea, however, there is no such thing as SOY Milk. . it's really SOY JUICE. But that sounds too gross. . so they call it Soy MILK!. . .

Peace. . .

It's called lactose intolerance, it's something in the milk that makes you sick, I am the same way I can't have any dairy unless it's lactose free.

Your body may have lost the ability to digest dairy products = lactose intolerant. If you can't giveup milk, cheese, yogurts and such you can take an over the counter pill to help you digest them.

You may be lactose intolerant since it makes you sick when you drink it. Since it makes you sick, just the smell of it can bring back back memories. You'll have to contact your doctor to be sure though.

You may be lactose intolerant.

Maybe, try soy milk.

I personally, prefer drinking soy milk over regular milk.
