My husband helped me through my first delivery very well cause I was too busy laughing at him and waiting for him to faint that I didnt have time to get worried to get stressed. I laughed at him he whole time! I always said he was tense enough for us both!

I think it's cause the woman is more counting down the days and preparing more and the guy is like yeah, she's pregnant, she's pregnant, she's pregnant, OH MY GOD A BABY?!?!?!!!!

we have four kids. I can say for sure that my wife was always calmer than I was.

It's not that I was fainting or any of that. But it's just that the man is a mere spectator.

You know when you watch a race from the side, and then you know the ahtlete and you ask him or her whether they were nervous? Most of the time they'll tell you they were just so busy with the act of racing that of course they were not nervous. Also they were in control, and when you are in control you are not nervous.

So yes, husbands, being not in control of anything during the birth, and being mere spectators, are bound to be more nervous that their wives.

We both were ok, he was really quiet, then he made the ultimate mistake. He ate mcdonalds in the room. I was being induced, I was SOOOO Afraid of pooping on the table I didnt eat after 12pm the day I went in (which was the night before induction) I got into the hospital and they said NO FOOD. I went the next 24 + hours without food. I was on oxygen, I took off my mask for a minute and all I smelled was mc donalds I started B!TCHIN!

I read and was well informed. He was so stressed that the nurse asked him to leave the room so not to upset me. 19 hours of labor, we were both ready to get it over with.

I had my mother with me for my first two. This one, my fiance will be there. I told him my mom's betting he faints, he says he won't, I'm betting he's gonna cry like a girl. He says he probably will do that. I might find it sweet, but most likely, I'll rib him about it for the rest of his life. God I love that man. =D

my husband was raving crazy - we had a baby heartbeat monitor thingie and he couldnt keep his eyes off it, even if it fluctuated in normal limits he would get so edgy, it was hilarious. also our baby was big so while she was struggling to work her way out we could see her elbow or leg stretching under the skin, that was making him more freaked out. I finally had a C-section, thank god, coz he couldnt have taken more of my labor.
