Hey guys I am really down and out, I can't find a job that ever works for me. I just got fired from my job tonight at as a late night grocery stocker which was terribly fast paced anyway and I wanted to quit so bad. I've been through a lot of jobs but I can't seem to find the one that works for me. I've been a telemarketer (too much stress and preassure to sell), worked in factories and grocery stores (too fast paced), done data entry typing (which was good but I'm moving to Toronto soon and apparently you need to know keystroke 1-10 which i don't), fast food and nursing home food prep (hated both and moved on) and a few non-sales positions which were nice, I would call buisnesses and ask if they used credit cards then asked if they take american experss and hang up, easy. I liked that position a lot. Do you guys have any suggestions on what I should take up that would fit into a person like me. I don' have a liscesnce, want to be alone, and don't care if the job is repedaive/but slow!

So you want a job where you don't work much with other people, don't sell, are allowed to work slowly, and requires no previous skills?

First, realize you have taken yourself way down near the bottom of the pay scale. That isn't necessarily bad if you are happy with this, just something you have to realize you are committing yourself to. Businesses want most of their employees to be profitable, productive, and interactive.... not slow and alone.

5 that come to mind: security guard, tool booth operator, warehouse operator, truck dock operator, delivery person (though the last 3 can be fast paced and physical).

If finances are a concern, look for something you can start and do on your own on the side. Mow lawns. Flop houses (living in them istead of rent so you aren't rushed). E-Bay. etc.

You don't choose jobs that give you any personal satisfaction. That's why they are called jobs.

Pick a career. Something that when you get up in the morning doesn't make you dread the upcoming day. Every job needs to be filled, the person who enjoys filling the position is the one that's content.

They have career counseling that can direct you in the direction your interest take you. Then find out how you can acheive that position.

Some people can make all the money in the world, they are usually the ones that brag alot and sound satisfied with their choice of career and talk alot like they are being impressive.

Every job needs to be done. Do the one you are good at and enjoy. You are the one who had to get up everyday and do it.Do it well and without shame.

Have you considered making a list of the things you like to do, and the companies that support those activities? Then check to see which companies in your area provide those services, and do your homework about their organization.

Then get yourself an interview and show them what strengths you would bring to their company.

Good luck!!
