They are not. They're called "tramp stamps" and "come catchers" for a reason.

Sure they are. Anything that's over-played like that is bound to become trashy.
It's the interesting and rare that stands out. Not the common and mundane.
BTW, those of you who get tattoos, be sure it's gonna be something you want to live with in the future. I got mine about 35 years ago and it's still OK, but most of what I see (thick Celtic bands, tribal markings, etc. are not likely to be all that welcome come middle age.
Of course you can hope for improved removal technology, but in case it doesn't happen, make sure it's the tat you really want and make sure it's in the best place possible.
Just a little advice...

Tramp stamps....I find lower back tattoos trashy I have 2 tattoos, my lower back will never have a tattoo on it

First, allow me a quick chuckle at "tramp stamps."
Ok, now to the question: are they hot? Not to me, I kinda feel like that concept is a bit played out. I'm not saying they are a turn-off, just not a turn-on.

As a personal opinion I think they look sexy, but it isn't a negative if you don't have one. As for the people I know, I think most are pretty indifferent about it, and I don't know any guy who would resist a girl just because of a tatoo there.

Wait a second....Personally i think that some of them are quite awesome. It all depends on what the picture is or symbol.
Why does everyone always say "be sure if you get a tattoo that its something you are gonna want for the rest of you life yada yada yada yadaaaaa BLEHHHHH......"
Of course if someone gets a frickin tattoo its more often than not something that they have a passion for. So..YEAH....i think that its something that they are gonna like forever and always..lol
But i think the stupidist thing is getting the name of your boyfriend/girlfriend .......im sorry but that is dumb....i can understand your kids names or your mom or another family member but someone who you dont know will always be in your life thats dumb as hell....
