The only way that you can get any medical records on anyone other than yourself is with written authorization of the patient (unless you are the parent/guardian of the patient). This is due to HIPPA rules that have been set up to protect patients privacy. Why do you need this persons medical records? If you have a ligitamit reason for getting these records then with the proper paperwork, which you can find at the source of the medical records (i.e. doctors office or hospital) and probably some $$ you can get a copy.

Absent a court order, medical records are strictly confidential - and the judge will want a very, very good explanation why you want those records - even if you are the patient's husband!

Do you mean you want the medical history? Including labs, pathology, H&P, progress notes, MAR, all reports. Are these the records you want? What do you want to do with them? This is privileged information protected by HIPAA.

Unless it's YOUR medical record, you cannot have it. That's what patient privacy is all about.
