Hi. I am currently a senior in high school in California, and I am seriously thinking about going to the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs. I think I want to be a teacher, and I wanted to know what you like most about the school. I really want more REAL student opinions. Will it help me become a teacher? What are the professors like? Are people friendly or clique-ish? Are there good parties? You know the basic need-to-know-questions. I'd love to hear from you.

Colorado Springs is the headquarters for the Christian right. If you want to live with a bunch of people who demand that you be just like them, then Colorado Springs is the place to be. If you want to actually be able to think and explore (which is the general purpose of a higher education), then there are better options. UT-Austin is pretty good. UCLA and UCB are much better choices.

It's a great school to go for a teaching degree. It's not too big like Boulder so you'll get the attention of smaller classes. Professors are nice and very knowlegeable. It's very affordable if you live in state. There are smart people, mostly average, and not so smart people, but that's good because there is no cut throat competition to be the best. The parties are great.
