My daughter let me know when she was ready. She started losing interest and not wanting to eat the stage 2 anymore, so my mom suggested moving up to stage 3. She loved them! And the teeth won't matter, the chunks in stage 3 aren't big enough or solid enough to be a problem. My daughter didn't get her first teeth until 14 months, and she ate the stage 3 just fine.

When the baby can mash food with gums. I introduced stage 3 to may son when he was around 8-9 months and had no teeth. He got his upper and lower 2 front teeth after 11 months... but he was able to mash food with his gums. You'd be surprised at how well they can gum things. Have you tried giving a couple of cheerios yet? If baby can handle that, they they can handle stage 3. It teaches them about texture.

Good luck... and always watch them real close when trying something new for the first time.

My daughter is 8 months old and she has 2 bottom teeth. I started her on table food and the graduate foods at 7 months. She doesnt like to take her bottles or baby food. It just depends on the child.

Usually when the baby is 8 months old but each baby is different. My son is 14 months old, he will eat some stage three food but not all brands as some are more lumpy than others. Is your baby taking more of an interest in what you are eating, if so try stage three and see. Good luck.

This "Stage 2" "Stage 3" thing is totally something Gerber made up, anyhow. I never did those jarred foods at all (we went straight to bits of table food), so you shouldn't feel like you need to unless you want to. It's not necessary for your baby, no matter what Gerber would have you believe. :)

At 7 months, with that many teeth, your babe can probably handle some self-feeding and fingerfoods, so you might want to try those.

I think the links might be helpful.

It all depends on the baby and how many teeth they have because stage 3 has some chunks in it. My little girl is 9 months old and just finally broke her two top teeth, so she can finally chew, so we are switching her over.

I changed at about 7 months my son had the bottom two. But its really not about the teeth because they use there gums most which is incredible. Its more about the gag reflexs.
