Chimborazo in Ecuador's Andes is the farthest peak from the center of the Earth!

trick question! Its NOT Everest, because there is another mountain someplace that, while not as far above seal level as Everest, happens to be much closer to the equator. And because the earth bulges some around the equator (its not a perfect sphere, its flattened slightly due to its spin) that other mountain is actually farther from the center of the earth.

BUT, I can't remember which mountain it is!

The summit of Chimoborazo constitutes the furtest point from the center of the Earth because of the high elevation, the location of the mountain at the equator and the oblateness of the Earth.

The earth is 22 kilometres wider at the Equator, so obviously this mountain is nearer the Equator than Everest is.

Somewhere in the equatorial Andes would be a good bet.

Mountains elevations are calculated from their height above sea level. The sea level is the same distance from the center of the earth all around the earth. So find out how far from sea level to the center of the earth is and add that to any mountain elevation to get the answer you're after - Mt. Everest! Which is in Nepal.
