He's charged with felony child abuse. It happened in Stockton, CA.

I saw the video and agree the Dad was over board , but I don't believe it warrants a felony.
That is ridiculous. It looked to my like the big kid gave the mans son a late hit knocking him down and then the dad ran out and did the same to the big kid. All very unfortunate and I think a apology and giving up coaching is all that is needed here.

I live in California and they've done a ton of stories on the guy. This happens all of the time and they call it parent rage. Parents are so used to their precious children getting whatever they want and always succeeding that they can't control themselves.
It's understandable to be upset but for a grown man to go on the field and ASSAULT a kid is criminal. Throw the book at him and at any parent that can't control their temper.
