zzzz if you are not already asleep...listen to this advice! number one get interested in the school work -- if you lose interest then you are bound to be "sleepy". No one extremely interested in his/her subject falls asleep -- specially if you are young i.e. less than 20 yrs. old. The no. 2 advice -- get all the good advices that were written here..and try them all -- one each day and let the best one keep you awake thereafter. Enjoy.

there were some good answers above.
If coffee has lost its affect, then you have serious issues.
You may have sleep apnia, in which case, NOTHING you do
will get you awake, other than to be plugged into an
ECG overnight in a test lab.
Vitamins, more sleep, better diet, exercise, etc. as above.
Forcing your self to stay awake is a dead end - you will have to
pay the shortage of sleep somewhere....
Better to find out WHY you are tired in the first place and fix
that problem...

Your best option is to get up early enough to eat a power breakfast(protein/carbs). I suggest oatmeal w/ cinnamon and sugar(not too much) and some protein such as 2 eggs, turkey sausages or bacon. You won't feel hungry and you'll remain alert throughout the morning...refuel your body during lunch! This works!

Have a banana for breakfast if you don't have the time for a hearty meal. It boosts your energy level. If you still feel tired after a proper night's sleep. Then, you need to exercise more often. Regular exercise helps to circulate your blood flow better and you'll never feel lethargic. You can also visit your neighbourhood pharmacy, ask the pharmacist for multi-vitamin pills to help boost mental alertness.

try with tablets of Coffeine (200 mg would be fine dose) or Guarana, green tea also helps for mental focusing. Or if you can try Ephedrine, its a best buy.. you will stay awake not only during school but much much longer...

P.S.
Ephedrine is illegal and you could feel some upseting simtoms, and if you are not 100% healthy (I mean you heart) you could die... so stick to green tea :o)

good luck

Go to sleep at 9 p.m. the night before. Get enough sleep and you won't be getting sick as much either.
