Which is a better band? Which bands music is better? I prefer Audioslave myself.

I like Soundgarden because it is original and they were sub-pop out of seattle like Nirvana, Mudhoney, etc. Then out of Audioslave and Rage Against the Machine, I prefer Rage. But its cool how the guys from Rage and Chris Cornell came together cuz they are both from really good bands. Then they formed Audioslave thats pretty cool.

Great question!
Well, it depends on who you're asking. Us older folks (those that spent their teens & early 20's in the 1990's) may prefer Soundgarden moreso than those that are that age now.
Personally, I prefer Soundgarden. But then again, I grew up during thier prime. At the same time, I do enjoy Audioslave's stuff.
Either way, no matter what band he is in..Chris Cornell will rock it.

I like Audioslave but Soundgarden is my favorite. Chris seemed to sing better and louder a couple of years ago. I know he's getting older, we all are, but it seems to me that the voice was better back in the day.

I prefer Soundgarden especially Outshined but I haven't heard the latest by Audioslave so I may be wrong.

I'm a huge Chris Cornell fan, so I love them both, but I'll pick Soundgarden. "Rusty Cage", "Outshined", "Fell on Black Days" are all kick-*** songs. I also like Cornell with Temple of the Dog. Awesome vocals! Chris Cornell is one of my favorite vocalist. Whether it's deep, sulty croons or banshee wails, he gives me goosebumps!

two different animals with their own qualities. i can't compare them in the sense of one being better than the other. apples and oranges.
preference...probably audioslave.
