Im from California and the people are crazy in a weird sort of way. Their problem is that they are always in a hurry, are always uptight about their lives and they take this frustration out on others. Lucky for me I live in Central California where the cities are smaller and the people are mellower. Southern California however suffers from critical mass(way too many people) and sociologically it has been proven that people living in that kind of environment become very agressive in their day to day lives. If you put too many rats in the same cage they will start to attack each other. Good question.

As a Texan, I used to believe all the stereotypes I heard about Californians until I visited there and met the locals. I went to northern California, and I tell you everyone I met was nowhere near the rediculous stereotypes that have been made. They are all kind people and not nearly as liberal as thought. I love it there. I seriously think now that the stereotypes that have been said of them do not do them justice, and I think it is only southern California residents, mostly L.A. area, that are like that. And I know it's not even all of them. It's probably just a handful like that, but I think that handful is unfortunately in a highly influencial and social community, thus giving the entire state a bad rep.

The great Archie Bunker's theory was that the Good Lord lifted the country by the East Coast and anything loose rolled to LA. Only a person who thinks New York is normal would espouse such a belief.

Ironically, people with family members with mental health problems are directed to California because there is not support systems in their home state. Funding of these programs have been drastically cut, but the ill keep coming.

Because most original californians were forced out of their state by the tens of thousands of people from the east coast and midwest who made the trek in the dotcom era. So you probably were talking to a New Yorker.

I only know two people who grew up in California, one beat his kids, cheated on his wife, stole from the company where he worked, gave his daughter drugs and covered for her when she used them and got in a wreck. The other person married an illegal immigrant and popped out child after child, using welfare for support and lying about being married (By the way her husband is a convicted sex offender and California has yet to deport him). So if I were to judge by those two, I'd have to say yes.

i live in So-Cal SOuthern California. The boys here are mean. The girls are so CONCEITED. they talk in a high pitch squeal. it's pretty diverse in So Cal. Everyone loves black men in California. Girls fight over them. It's pretty cool except for the snobby girls and extremely cocky athletes. Then again, i'm just in high school.
