Lio is currently my favorite comic strip. It is written by the same person who does Heart of the City. I also like Heart of the City.

Mark Tatulli is an internationally syndicated cartoonist, best known for the popular comic strip HEART OF THE CITY, featuring a fun-loving, tenacious little girl and her adventures in the big city of Philadelphia.
Now Tatulli plies his pen to LIO, an opportunity to explore his darker side. Drawn in the age-old style of "pantomime strips," LIO offers a decidedly new and edgy twist to the dialogue-less comic format. Tatulli also employs a unique drawing style, so different from HEART, influenced by cartooning greats Gahan Wilson, Charles Addams, and 19th-century satirist A.J. Volck. Tatulli was eager "to bring something truly different to the comics pages...something to appeal to all ages, drawn in pictures only. To tell a story without text while updating the pantomime concept with a modern audience in mind." The result is a mind-bendingly funny journey into the darkly detailed world of young LIO and his bizarre creature co-stars.

In addition to his cartooning experience, Tatulli is also an accomplished filmmaker and animator, and is the recipient of three Emmy awards for his television work. His recent experience includes graphics and animation for such shows as A WEDDING STORY, TRADING SPACES: BOYS VS. GIRLS, EPICURIOUS, and children's DVDs.

Tatulli is a self-described "stay-at-home-stripper," dividing his time between cartooning and all the other normal suburban stuff. He lives in a Spielbergian development in New Jersey with his wife, Donna, three children and three nefarious cats, all of whom supply endless ideas for LIO.
