It has never been out of fashion. The only variable is the number of qualified torturers. It is hard to train them fast enough to meet the demands of our society, and we are forced to recruit from the local police, thus causing slip-shod work. We have even tried to outsource the work to other countries (We tried in Viet-Nam with Con Song prison, and even provided the tiger-cages, thanks to the unique designs of RMK-BRJ, a subsidiary of Halliburton)...but they only managed to overflow the graveyard. We re-wrote training manuals, borrowing the best ideas from the Inquisition, KGB, Dr. Mengele, and other professionals but it is a big burden.
I am being fatuous. I was interned by the Japanese in Hong Kong during World War II and was beaten, starved and abused often, and watched others being beheaded and if America is turning that direction, then it is time for you to emigrate. No one should ever have to suffer such pain.

It should never be accepted, but I think around 2007 it will be legal and by 2009 it will be common practice.

it may never be accepted, but it is already common practice.
the bullcrap they say the CIA (former)secret prisons are for is a bold faced lie! they are secret so noone knows of the torture the U.S. inflicts on detainees. what happened at 'Gitmo' has already leaked this to the public

American already does it. the american people just don't get to see it or hear about it. Nor will it ever be public record either. After all we must keep our good and clean image you know.
