I work at a job that provides great pay AND benefits (much better then I did as a teacher).

I feel as if I am going mad (well "mad" might be a a bit overstating it,)

however.

I like working with people that involve caring for others (that's why I chose teaching, but I couldn't pay my bills) and in turn ALSO are supportive of the people they work with.

This is not the scenario of this position.

As a secondary part to this question: IF you did say yes to "have any of you felt "displaced" at a job?," answer this queation:

"What did you do to resolve it?"

I WILL tell you that I am not looking for responses that advise ME what to do. I also don't want to hear that I am being negitive.

I love to work, and I plan to work the rest of my life.. I just want to be true to me.

I have been at this job for 6 years and have a hard time believing that this is all there is.

Thank you for your responses.

YES...I took a long hard look and the pros and cons first of the job. The cons weight out, I had a great job, too, but the owner sold the business and the displacement came in like a brick wall. Then I had to take the approach of doing something that I thought I would never do. Revised a resume that was outdated. I went on-line to Careerbuilders.com, the local newspaper and even the EDD website and signed up...I then was able to pick and choose jobs that suited me as well as I would suite them. At first it was like, yeah right syndrome...but after a week or so, I started getting hits, more hits than I could have imagined. I found a company that was well suited to take and the offer was amazingly FAB. I now have that same feeling of my old job before the company sold and great co-worker to be around. It is a nice feeling to wake up and want to go to work instead if having to go to work feeling. I too, love to work and it is so important to keep on track of things. I hope that this give you some hope.

I would stick it out for a few weeks and if things dont get better, then you should go somewhere you would feel more comfy.

by displaced do you mean you didn't feel like you fit in. If your not a brown noser you'll never feel like you fit in.
