There was a black shadow of a man hovering over my bed and laughing into my face. I couldn't find my voice so I went back to sleep...
There are many more incidents but this one is the shortest to type.

the house i live in is haunted. i have experienced orbs of light, odd sounds, objects moving around, lights going on and off, and occasionally strange whispering. i have moving cold spots and whenever i feel one, my dog starts barking like crazy. i have yet to see an apparition, and im not looking forward to doing so. these things happen in spurts, not every day, so i assume the spirit is in visitation not grounded. i know that some dismiss the paranormal, but i know for a fact that the things i experience are real. my husband has experienced the same things, so i know it isnt my imagination working overtime. i have to say that i dont feel a positive energy coming from this spirit, and that concerns me. i have been in other locations that were allegedly haunted and felt both good and bad energies before. the occurances have gotten more frequent recently so i am on edge about it. lets hope nothing bad happens.

I would have them all the time after my mom died 28 years ago and when my dad died 23 years ago they stopped, until last night. I had been looking thru some old photos and my moms scrap book for my birth cert if, I needed my time of birth for a free reading (never did that before) (really) When I found a baby book and it had my time of birth, came downstairs to get on line and you know when you get the feeling someone is watching you? Well I got it, turned my head and saw a shadow of a person for about 3 seconds and got scared, only because it had been so long. You can usualy see things in your pref. vision, at the side and not so often eyes forward. Isn't it great!!!

Wow. I've always lived in houses with ghosts, and I've answered this question many times. I'm really too tired right now to get into it, but I saw JB HR's answer and it is so similar to my experience that I had to answer.
When I was from 7 to 12 years old we lived in a big old Civil War era house in Louisiana. Our house was definitely haunted...several areas were so creepy that we couldn't go through them sometimes ((up the narrow, turning stairs, the upstairs room, and my bedroom/ bathroom suite (lucky kid, me!) underneath the top bedroom suite.)) At night when I would be sleeping, I would have a vivid 'dream' that I came out of the bathroom, walked past the closet, which flew open and was filled with fire & flames, then I would wake from the nightmare, and there was this tall tattered man standing by the bed looking down at me, and he was THERE and I was AWAKE. It took my breath away so I couldn't get the scream out (I can still remember this feeling and the sound I made trying to scream, a mere whisper from my throat...I would finally just faint from fear, looking back, I believe this is so, because I have no memory of him going away or trying to get Mom...I'd just wake up in the morning, lalala...and mention my bad dream ghost to my little friends and I lived with this horror for 5 years, and didn't know any better. Once my older sister came home from college and was sharing the room with me, when she woke up screaming bloody murder, and freaking out, completely hysterical. She never would say what it was, but I knew. She says she doesn't remember it at all now. That was 38 years ago...
I thought everybody had ghosts and I just though it was normal. In fact, I really LIKE ghosts and haunted places. (except really evil bad places)
Anyway, the punch line to this is my Mom found out the history of the house later on. There was once, long ago, a fire that wiped out my whole wing of the house (all the scary part upstairs and down), and a man died trying to save his little girl. I guess she died also.
I hope you enjoyed my tale. Sleep tight.....

hmmm i was recently in aruba in the occidental allegro grand hotel with my buddies infact exactly a month ago. there is a ship about 100 feet from the beach. during the day it always stay in the same exact spot on the ocean. during the night it goes back to shore. anyways my friend got us into that ship i figured out that ship is out there everyday because it signifies the natalee holloway incident. people believe someone took her on that ship and sold her in venezuala others say they raped and murdered her and she died on the ship and someone through her body away and her ghost lives on the ship. so everynight they always have parties on that ship. and the captain of the ship comes up on stage and tells everyone the natallee story and he says that he has seen a girl that looks like natalee well her ghost on the ship. i dont know if it is true or not but that is what the captain claims also in their kitchen on the boat the cook lady claimed she saw nattallee holloway looking at her for a few seconds. i dont know if its true or not but thats what they say.

Yes. I woke up and this guy was standing over my bed watching me sleep. I didn't feel safe. I got up screamed like a freak, fell off my bed, crawled to the door, clawed my way out, and screamed on the floor in the hallway. My mom came out and was freaking out, and I made her check my room for the man. I was 19 at the time! My sister had a similar experience in that same bedroom at about the same age I was.

In the last house I lived in, twice in the middle of the night I've woken and seen my grandmother standing at the end of my bed like she was watching over me.

At this house I live in now, you can feel someone sitting on the end of our bed sometimes, my partner says he's felt someone touch his foot or lower leg on occasion, but the weird part is. When he wakes at about 3am to go to work, he can feel someone sit at the end of our bed, near me, he says it happens at the same time each morning for about 30 minutes, he thinks that subconsciously I must know it is there because a weird kind of calmness comes over me while it is there. He thinks it is someone I know, but I have sensed it as well and it is only in our bedroom.

daily.. I work in a hospital & my office is next to the "viewing room" well that's what they call the morgue as to not scare anyone... also I used to live in a house where an old lady would always appear in my room and a few others that were sleeping over saw/felt her aswell..still wondering if it was my grandma or just another old lady..she was pretty harmless you could just feel her tucking you into bed at night..

I live in a haunted house wher the three ex-owners were hanged. Many strange things happened, sounds, a woman crying, a woman in a wedding dress, with pale skin and brunette and with her make-up ruined stays in the nights with full moon on the balcony and sings.

well this is stupid and probably a hallucination. but one time I woke up in the middle of the night and thought the pull string on my mini blinds was spinning. there was no noise, so I figured I was seeing things being halfway asleep. but then my dog jumped up and started barking at it! lame i know... thats all i have though
