When is the reserve date for the PS3?

I REALLY want a PS3. I heard the date was pushed back to later this month. But what day exactly?

I work at Gamestop... so I can tell you what that particular company is doing about reservations.

The Xbox 360 reservation system was horribly flawed because reservations were taken months in advance when none of the stores had any information about the amount of units that would arrive on the launch date. Gamestop doesn't want the same thing happen with the PS3 (as well as the Wii, the new Nintendo system), so reservations will probably begin sometime in October. If you're looking to make a reservation that will get you a console within a reasonable time period after the launch date (Currently November 7th), make a reservation with a store that is using this system.

Also, about the PS3... not to rain on your parade (I love Sony and Final Fantasy!) but the console is going to be $670 after tax and EACH game will cost $60 - $100 each, and that's no mistake. The Wii, on the other hand, which will feature motion sensitive controllers for a revolutionary style of gameplay, will only cost $180 and no game will be priced over $50. The reason it's so cheap? The hardware is not as impressive as the Xbox 360 or the PS3, and the system does not include a DVD player (but will have an attatchment for DVD compatibility sold seperatley). The Wii will also feature an online store (think iTunes) with downloadable games from every nintendo system ever made. Go to gamespot.com for more information, it's a good source :)

who knows? theres a shortage of blue laser daiodes used to make the system.. so its been delayed till march in the UK but its being released mid november in japan and the states, but in limited numbers till about march i suppose next year
