Everyone has a sort of a lump there - it's the knuckle where the head of the 5th metacarpal meets the little finger proximal phalanx bone.

Is this lump you're talking about a new thing or is it the same lump as on your other hand?

If it is the same one then it is probably something sore related to the joint. If it is a new thing you might have some sort of problem with the:

tendon (enthesitis/tenosynovitis)
joint capsule (arthritis)
blood vessels (haemangioma)
nerves (ganglion/neurofibroma)
skin (vesicle/pustule/boil)

other (?foreign body)

It's not really possible to tell what it is. You could go and google some of those things I've mentioned and see if it looks like it, but you are really best off going to a doctor and showing them what it is so they can tell you. We cannot see what it looks like, unfortunately.

Then come back and google THAT.

If it is a callus or a bony spur then it shouldn't be painful.

I had an ultrasound as quickly as I felt a lump in my scrotum. The ultrasound technician became male, and the area became coated by a fabric with a hollow in it so as that purely my scrotum became uncovered. The gel felt somewhat chilly while it became utilized yet there became no soreness by any ability from the technique. The test confirmed up promptly on a visual exhibit unit and that i became given a prognosis immediately away, yet with the proviso that copies of the test might prefer to be scrutinized by the resident urologist. It became shown as achieveable loose cyst and it dissipated devoid of therapy some month later. the entire technique took approximately quarter-hour. I wasn't embarrassed in any respect the way by the journey. EDIT @Gene there became no person contained in the room different than the technician and me. It became all very discreet and that they go out of their thank you to maintain it as inner maximum as attainable.

Why dont you just go and see your doctor if your worried about it? Theres not much point hoping that theres a doctor on this site that can reassure you that its nothing. I could pretend to be a doctor and tell you that its a cancerous lump and that if its not removed within 24 hours you could die. Are you just looking for stupid answers such as that. STUPID

My girlfriend has this, I forget exactly what it is but its not dangerous or anything. It is like a build up of some stuff and it feels super hard like it was a bone or something but it can be extracted. it can be removed easily by any doctor, my girlfriend just hates needles so doesnt want to have it done.
