Maybe for five centimeters and for the referee to see anything that insignificant would have been impossible to judge.
How about the time, at the 45:00, when Buffon caught the ball and went out-of-bounds but the referee didn't stop the play to give France the corner kick. Or when Buffon barely saved the ball at the 65:00 and Italy was awarded a goal kick.
You know, we could go on and on with this game but it doesn't change the fact that France was utterly superior.

Of course you didn't notice, Gallas was in offside, not Gouvou.

Posizione irregolare (well, you're French, I GUESS, it isn't such a difficult task) = irregular position = over the offside line (offside foul)

What I think?
Useless detail anyway, especially if compared with WC Brazil-Ghana match (2 goals out of 3 scored in offside foul), no 1 Ghanaian was blaming the ref...
2 days ago we watch 2 teams who weren't playing at same level.
Having a goal unallowed to France - or a penalty accorded to Italy, nor everything else, wouldn't save Italy.
France was dominating the early 20' and was CRUSHING in the whole 2nd half. No way to Italy. Great France.

What's your Av doing? Can't understand the pic. Too dark there.

YES, The offsidehe was obvious, why French people never succeeded to accept the truth?

You say that the Italians always cheat.......but seem that he is not therefore, in two matches France have had an invented penalty and an offside goal and Italy has said nothing. Zidane gives headbutt to other people and you protests!!!!

You are just ridicules!!!!

That is only jealousy speaking. It's hard for the losers to swallow that beautiful goal in the first two minutes. Merci, Govou! And let me add that Henry's goal was also beautiful, the perfect revenge! And Coupet's saves were amazing, he is fantastic! Merci, Les Bleus!

Yes I do, but that's not the point since France played better and they deserved to win this time. Anyway Gallas was in an irregular position when he took the ball and pass it to Govou ( the French producers were showing that image many times) but as I said before that doesn't matter now, France won & congrats to them!

Posizione irregolare = irregular position
When Gallas received the ball he was in offside position and the ref should have stopped the play, awarding Italy with a free kick... but this is football... something too complicated for a
