There are two programs that I use religiously. Download one at a time. 1) Spybot 2) Adaware by Lavasoft. After installling them, make sure you download all of the latest updates. Run one and when that completes, run the other. You will have to run these several times for the first round. I have found that if these two programs (along with a good anti-virus software) cannot rid your computer of viruses, worms and spyware, that it's best to rebuild the computer's operating system.

Try this...
I see you have AVG (you can skip this part) - Download, install and update AVG Anti-Virus - it's free and can be found here - http://www.vermontpcsolutions.com/tools_anti_virus.html
It's easy to install and use - to read about how to install AVG go here - http://www.vermontpcsolutions.com/how_to_install_avg_anti_virus.html
Then start the computer is Safe Mode - (usually this is accomplished by tapping the F8 key on your keyboard while the computer is starting up) - read more about starting a computer in Safe Mode here - http://www.vermontpcsolutions.com/how_to_start_in_safe_mode.html
Then run AVG and do a full system scan, let it find and remove any viruses it finds.
You might want to try using MSCONFIG as a tool to help disable the malware - see more about MSCONFIG here - http://www.vermontpcsolutions.com/how_to_use_msconfig.html
One other thing too, if you are running Windows XP, you should also remove your System Restore files. Viruses love to hide in them. To learn how to temporarily disable System Restore see this page - http://www.vermontpcsolutions.com/disabling_system_restore.html

hi, perhaps you can try Norton to remove the virus. but you need to pay for the software.
i recommand you to use firefox with Google toolbar. firefox can disable all virus to run, because the virus can only run on IE.
besides, firefox can block any any poppus and disable any virus and adware, spyware on webpage, so, firefox is much safer than IE. as you know, most of the virus is spread throught internet and webpage.
firefox is much smaller than IE, so i run faster than IE.
download firefox for free:

I have a legal and moral obligation to keep my pc 100% clean. And I use an antivirus/spyware program out of Beijing, China.
http://www.filseclab.com -- This program has kept me 100% clean for the past nine years.
Twister Anti-Trojan Virus is absolute state of the art technology that has a real time scanner
that really works. Will scan your memory on start up and continues to run in the background
while you use your pc. Plus this software uses very little CPU resources.
Some examples of how great this program is. If you open a webpage and there is a virus or
spyware embedded in the webpage the scanner will catch the virus in a second and clean.
If you download any type of file including music or a zip file and there is hidden embedded
virus in the file the download will stop and the Twister will clean and stop the download.
I had an experience where the software I download the company used another installer other
then their own. The installer had hidden embedded virus in the installer program.Twister found it and cleaned, plus ended the installation and traced it back to the installer software.
(I wrote the original software company and they now use their own installer).
What is really great is that you only pay a small one time fee for life. You will get frequent
large signature updates, excellent support and they never charge you for any new versions.
There are many other features as auto downloads, and the ability to fix all type of problems with your registry or windows.
The chinese don't believe in the annual fee or paying of new versions like most of the other software companies want to be paid over and over for the original purchase.
I use Zone Alarm free firewall (http://www.zonealarm.com). As a backup even though I have ADSL.I use ewido antispyware / malware. www.grisoft.com --Ewido was purchased by AVG. Ewido is free and will protect you from rogue dialers.
Also,you can use:

Spybot-Search and destroy is wat u are missing. It is really great software as well as entirely free. Also it includes realtime protection for IE 6. Best antispy pick ever
Also u'll get Norton Antispy free(entirely) if u install latest yahoo toolbar for Internet Explorer, Norton may be good too.
Spybot is still the best, and has helped me. I have Spybot,Ad-Aware, and Norton Antispy. No zone alarm, still, my pc is doing good. (You'll get everything at download.com, and yahoo toolbar with norton antispy at yahoo.com)
There is another software called hijackthis, it is supposedly good, but u should know wat u are doing with it(bit professionalistic),it shows many false positive readings.
Also scanning in safe mode(Press F8 during startup) is a better option with every anti-spyware and anti-virus programs, Antispywares and antivirus programs function best in safe mode)

the best way to get rid of these issues is not to acquire them in the first place, i only have my xp firewall on and that's it,i don't even know what getting a virus is like, you don't need all that virus protection, the only thing that virus protections succeeds in doing is slowing your pc down, never download anything that says its free, because you will acquire adware when you download free programs, if you know how to get in safe mode you will be able to eliminate most if not all of your problems, when in safe mode the pc freezes everything making it possible to find and eliminate threats on you pc, have fun

You have to deconstruct what spyware, malware, and viruses are. They are programming code that does malicious things to your computer. Anything from a error message occurring to permanent damage to your hard drive. Those softwares do a combination of searching software that are actively running for known-code that would do malicious things and/or a hotlist of names that are "bad."
You could always just go back to the date of the last time you backed up your computer or format [which means delete everything].
