Clinton was hamstrung by the Republican controlled congress. When he sent cruise missiles, the Republicans accused him of being a warmonger, chastised him, and berated him. He had no choice politically than to back down or not get anything done. Everytime he made a move to correct the terrorist threat militarily the Republican majority pulled back on the reins. (I understand that there was an executive order to find and eliminate Osama as a threat that King George rescinded when he took office because he didn't take the threat of terrorism seriously). The current administration has been planning an Iraq invasion since day two in office, and has been trying to blame the Clinton White House for everything that goes wrong on their watch. As far as I'm concerned what comes out of the back end of a hog, and what comes out of King George's mouth are one and the same.

If you *** monkeys would look back...you would see that the Bill Clinton legacy spawned only one year after Bush took over. If he had been dealing with the threats to America instead of having to defend committing adultery and perjury in court, it may have been avoided. Clinton's best Foreign Policy was to pay people off (Shin Feign - so they could finance more attacks in England) and to lob a few Tomahawk missiles here and there to divert attention from his questionable activities. Please people get real...the problem didn't just arrive within the first year of Bush's tenure...it had 8 long years to fester and manifest into the greatest tragedy the US has faced since Pearl Harbor.

he could have all the fun he wanted, that was between him and his wife....the country on the other hand was in MUCH better shape than under this Bush regime. Too much time and money and effort on thrashing out this affair by the FBI than efforts on terrorists or anything else. The republicans and their committees focusing on how they could impeach a guy because of an affair...who cares... they all do .. he just got framed and caught... which all ended up taking the focus off of the fbi's real duties...and had the reps running around like chickens framing him because they wanted to run the country sooo badly. and now they do...and the country is being run.......badly.

Why did Republicans force the FBI to investiage a decades old real estate scandal and an affair with a consenting adult while terrorists were taking flight lessons.

If Ken Starr didn't exist, more agents could have focused on real work, and maybe it could have been prevented.

Of course, there was that whole report given to Bush called "Bin Laden determined to Attack inside America" that mentioned planes.

I dunno. But then, Clinton is the one who ordered the surgical strike that crippled Saddam Hussein's ability to develop WMDs. He was also the one who persuaded NATO to intervene in the former Yugoslavia, stopping the genocide of Muslims and scoring a coup against all those who said Americans hated Islam. He also balanced the budget and did wonders for the environment, instituted major reforms in welfare while encouraging economic growth via targetted taxes and tax cuts.

You know, by my personal standards, that qualifies as "achievement."

Because he was a smart guy who was inclined to follow his primitive instincts instead of exercising his "so-called" intelligence to make critical decisions that ultimately required the one thing he never did, and never will have; A SPINE.
