Is it ok for me to eat dog food?

Question

I been going through a tough time and dog food is dirt cheap and is pretty tasty. Also has anyone tried cat food if so please tell me which did you prefer dog or cat food?

I read a news article once about senior citizens eating dog food (very sad) and it said that it was okay and wouldn't really hurt them. My dogs eat dry food, which would be horrible, but we do top it off sometimes with a cheap canned food called Ol' Roy. It's meat cut in strips and in a gravy. This may sound crazy but it smells and looks good. If you didn't know, you wouldn't know. I mean, if it were heated and somebody served it to you, it's not like you would gag and scream, "Ugh! Dog food!" Cat food is really, really smelly.
As for whether or not you should eat it, don't. It will depress you more to think you are eating dog food. Ramen noodles are cheaper and you can live on them forever if you have to.

it won't kill you, but here are some considerations...

the manufacturing and packaging standards are not the same as for human food.

you may not get the appropriate amounts of each nutrient.

have you tried to apply for food stamps with your state or county? or check out your local Salvation Army or United Way. they usually can provide some emergency groceries and other resources. do you go to church? most churches can help provide food for people in need.

also if your city has a soup kitchen you can stop in for a free meal whenever they are open. they don't charge anything. it is financed and operated mostly by volunteers and charitable donations.

Hiya Bubba......I have no problems with you eating dog food, it's when you sit on the couch licking your balls after your finished that I object to, and the hair from your ****, it sticks to all the furniture dude..watdup wif that. No, seriously........if I have to get up one more time during the night when I hear that thump (which is u licking ur balls)and falling off the couch, I ain't gonna be a happy camper........you be sleeping outside in the dog house.

well this is funny my son was feeding my daughter dog briskets and telling her it was cookies she seemed to like it fine but when I found what he had done he didn't much care to do that again I can tell you it didn't kill her but every time we mentioned it she would cry lol until she got over it . To this day she punches her brother every time he brings up the subject of dog food or cookies lol good luck go for it

There are better things to eat besides dog or cat food. Please look into those options and who said dog food is cheap? My dog eats better than I do?

Well I have not eaten either. But my dog really likes pedigree you can get all types of flavors beef, chicken in rice, country style. Seriously though I might stick to like ramen noodles they are really cheep so is tuna fish.

i don't know if is good for you but i don't think it will kill you. Spice it up. try buying some romen noodles to make a dog spagetti. Other cheap items are corn beef if is from the dollar store.

I'd say dog food, since dogs are bigger than cats, their food must have more vitamins and proteins and stuff and your diet will be healthier.

Well sounds gross but hard times are hard times I would eat cat food because i prefer seafood don't like gray on my food!!!!

It probably won't kill you but dog food is not cheap. If you can afford dog food you can afford people food.
