Companies use your unique identifier from your computer to see what products your are interested in, etc.. Ever notice where you're surfing for say.. flowers, then any pop-ups you might get are flower shops. Very clever these advertisers are! Just try to stay one step ahead. You might also disable cookies.

Yes! There are programs called spyware that can track where you go online. Or commerical programs like Spector which takes pictures of your screen at set times and can email these pictures to anyone.

there are things called ip sniffers, that hackers use to find someones ip address.. from there, they hack your comp, and so yes someone could track you by looking into your history or temp folders, but this is very unlikely
