Yes. If you want to change this, when in Yahoo Mail:
- click Options
- click General Preferences
- enter the name you want to appear in the "from" line
Caution: If you choose a "cutesy" name, be sure your contacts know this or they may not open your mail. I'm not committing the crime of the century so I use my real name in the "from" line.

If it's Yahoo they see what you have entered on your options page. Go to Options, the click on General Preferences. The first space there is where you enter what you want people to see when you e-mail them. If the space is blank - it will enter your e-mail address to your receiver's inbox. If you enter your name, they don't see your e-mail address until they get to your e-mail. Hope this helps.

How you set up your account in say, Outlook Express, will display what you typed in. You can change how others will see your email address by going into settings, or preference and change the name. If you go to this url, you'll understand better what I'm talking about.

Yes, when you send mail it is sent in this format
Your Name
that's how you see your name first... in case you see someones email id instead of name then it's because his mail was sent as
hisemail@hisprovider.com
hope this solves your query
