He is either stuck in the 80's, gay, a Nascar fan. Personally I think half shirts, cutoffs and the like look terrible on me, most women will probably agree. Its not nessacary for a guy to dress al GQ, but a little bit of taste goes far.

AS long as his boyfriend does not care that he is committing a major fashion No-No, I think you should just encourage his outfit. Perhaps you should buy him a red hat and some red cowboy boots to accent his outfit.
