Okay. So it's 'fashionable' to wear baggy clothes....but WHY????
WHY would anyone want to dress like a PIMP and expect to be RESPECTED?

I'm not narrow-minded or an 'old fogey'. I'm 30. I'm Australian. I just want to understand the cultural/historical significance of African-American rap culture, that's all....so shoot me.

Nothing says "arrest me I am a criminal ( or want to be )" like the uniforms you describe. I guess they think it brings them fashion respect from other wannabe's, but nothing says I am a sheep more than the style. The harder they try to look like some hip hop video star the more ignorant and silly they become.

I think it's a way of identifying which genre of music the artist is from the way rockstars have tattoos, long hair, bandanas, piercings, etc.
Although hip-hop artist videos never seem to evolve have they? Bling-bling, cars that "bounce" and scantily clad women. What's up with that?

I by no skill take my rings off, different than my rings to scrub them now and returned. I placed on 2 unique silver chains from Italy - doubled and twisted - as bracelets at my left wrist, a pair of undeniable silver rings and my diamond channel set band that i bought myself for mom's day after my daughter became into born. I even have 3 earring holes, yet purely placed on the single emerald stud that jogs my memory of my mom. i think of the different holes are final up, yet once I do discover the tiny hoops (they journey my mom's day ring) that I took out to scrub, i'll poke them back by. lol

Who do Emo kids wear girl pants, never comb their hair, always look strung out amd dirty? It is just a fashion nothing more. Nothing less. Don't worry...ALL THINGS MUST PASS & we can all look back, wonder what the **** were they thinking and have a good laugh. :)

First of all, hip/hop/rap artists are majority african americans, they want to stand out and to have their own cultures I guess. If you look at it, i mean Africans Americans since they arrived to America, they were slaves and have to do whatever the whites tell them to do. Now it's their chance to be on their own and do or wear whatever they want I guess. It's really fugly to be but hey... they want to look stupid, fine by me lol, they've got their own "culture" lol.
