to find and kill Osama Bin Ladin and his crew or to bring peace and stability to Iraq. I'd especially like to get an answer with an explanation from a conservative...how important is the Iraq war when compared to killing Bin Ladin and his Taliban friends?

Finding and killing Osama would be contra productive to the Bush junta. They need to have a bogeyman out there they can parade around each time when the populace needs a proper scare.

The fact that there were just 50 American service men on the ground at Tora Bora speaks volumes. They bombed some mountains and let him get away. Ever since Tora Bora there haven't been a serious attempt to find him. All the forces in Afghanistan are focused on is to secure the country and the oil pipeline that was built weeks after Hamid Karzai (a former Chevron exec.) was put into power.
The Bush junta thought: "Why spend billions to hunt a man we can use whenever we wish." Not only do they need him being free, but they need him to issue tapes at appropriate times. And if he doesn't do as it is convenient, those tapes can always be manufactured by using a technology called voice-morphing.

Peace, stability and democracy in Iraq takes the prize. With democracy will come women's rights which are essential to the exercise of freedom and democracy. The rise of women in the Middle East would bring about great change (for the better) in the long run that would have a profound effect on further development and progress in the region.

Iraq is insignificant to us in the wake of 9/11. We let the terrorists that did attack our country run amok and Osama is living his life however he wants without fear or regard since OIL is the main concern of this president....especially since there are photos of the bin Laden family and the bush family.....oil friends...regardless of how many Americans lose their lives. such a shame. we have a president in office that 9/11 simply meant......hmmm good reason to go to the middle east and control all of the oil!! Raise the gas prices!!!! Cut corporate taxes....and put the country into a bigger deficit... and oh yea....Haliburtan....what a guy.

I agree with the first answerer. Look at how gas prices fell even during the high traffic holiday. Name one other time prices dropped before a major commuting holiday. They don't, unless it is election time.
