i do not have my diploma nor ged im hopeing to make my own games to play kind of like guild wars or world of warcraft kind of games but i do not know where to look for that sort of thing?

Do you know any programming language? That is going to be your first step. We are talking at least a year of study and experimenting before you can even begin to tackle pac-man. World of Warcraft is impossible to do by yourself, it took a quite a team of programmers, designers, testers, and resource management to make a game of that scale.
I would suggest starting to learn C++, go to the microsoft.com web site, they have just put out a gaming development environment that I have not tried but its a start.
I think maybe the easiest way for you to make a game would be in Flash. It won't be as satisfying but it will help you get your feet wet, plus it can be a game that many people can play by just visiting your web site.

Check out game maker from www.gamemaker.nl . Its a gud tool but u have to register it for a small fee. It doesn't make much difference even if u dont. I have an unregistered version and I am quite happy about it as it can do almost everything the registered version does. Its tutorials are also avaliable
