A metaphor is a comparison of two unlike things. For example, "The singer was a croaky frog." It compares a singer to a frog. Also, "The rainbow is a sparkling river in the sky." comparing a rainbow and a river. Usually a metaphor uses descriptive language to make the point, but not always.

"America, there's no place like it" is just a statement because it is not making a comparison between two things.

a metaphor would be something like "America is a ship sailing on the winds of change". America, there's nothing like it, is not a metaphor.

no it's not a metaphor. A metaphor is another object/place/situation etc that could represent something else.

no. theres nothing remotely metaphorical about it. if it were a metaphor, there'd be something that could be translated out of it. its a common phrase that can be used for different situations, but it doesnt mean anything else BUT that. so no.

No, this can be seen in slogans for credit cards, furnishings etc. Pretty much well used, just replaced America with anything you like.
