Bill to protect gay students is vetoed
By Edwin Garcia
MediaNews Sacramento Bureau
SACRAMENTO - Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger on Wednesday vetoed legislation that would have barred discrimination against gays in public schools.

The measure, SB 1437 by Sen. Sheila Kuehl, D-Los Angeles, would have prohibited the instruction, use of textbooks or school-sponsored activities that adversely reflect on people based on their sexual orientation -- adding to an existing law that bars discrimination in schools based on race, sex, color, creed, handicap, national origin or ancestry.

mel - gays and feminist did not vote for him. They campaigned against him.
Second, California is not a gay state - it's more like three states with a very conservative red neck central valley.

Don't like him, he's a political coward, he won't say what he believes in, except when it comes to a veto. He tot tally waffles after he got his a** handed to him the special election, and now he's a complete girly-man when it comes to most issues. I'll vote against him.

stacia,
I like the governator. I like him as an actor, I think that he's funny. A good sense of humor, that is. I like most of his movies. I think that he was good for the bodybuilding art or sport, whatever it is. He was the perfect Conan.

Politically, I think that he found that it was harder to deal with the liberals in Sacramento than he thought. And I think that he got distracted from his original attempts to get things buttoned up, even to the point of neglect.

What else he was is a better governor than that piece of trash backstabbin' SOB Grey Davis. I would take 40 years of Arnold Swartzenegger over 2 seconds of Gray Davis.

And don't get me started on Bustamonte, or however you spell that treasonous jerks name.

Yeah, whilst the chum is properly beautiful and extraordinarily in the beginning up of the friendship. It got here approximately so many times I even call it a classic section for me that i've got learnt to fully forget approximately approximately. I parent it is because of the fact faster or later you do ask your self what you opt to do with this solid bond it is forming, like on the crossing roads it ought to stay a friendship or grow to be romantic or some thing else... yet I many times discover this is terrific for it to stay a friendship because it many times final by greater stuff :)

Hate his politics. But I'm ashamed to admit that I love most of his movies. Kindergarten Cop is my favorite.

Glad I don't live in Ca though, course we have our own republican bozo governor here in Missouri. I didn't vote for him either.

I , honestly, have never cared for him...I always thought he just promoted himself too much....and what he did by vetoing this makes me realize what a homophobe he really is.....he should be ashamed...the rate of suicide amongst GLBT kids is out of control..and he is now part of the reason...I hope he sleeps well.

I never did like him. I never thought he was appropriate to be Governor of California, either. I hope he gets voted out next term!

first off, California is a gay state.

Second, your people voted for him.

third, he is an ok actor but since he unashamedly dyes his hair and has gotten some terrible plastic surgery, He is about done on the screen.
