Hi there :~)

The "Ping" is the computer network term for communication between or among different computers on the network (server).

When you "Ping" a player by clicking that player's ID during the game, you are actually sending a communicating pocket from your computer to his/her computer on the game server. Immediately, you will see some digits showing on the Ping screen. Those numbers meausured by seconds telling us how fast (in speed) communicating between the computers. When it says "No Ping," that means the player you just Ping have disconnected from the game server. Therefore, there shows no Ping activity on the result.

You can also type words inside the Ping box, so that the message you type in will be sent to that player. They called that kind of chatting "IM." The message you type there will be seen between you and that particular player. Therefore, the message is considered "Private." Yahoo! Games players often like to use the Ping for privately communicating and inviting their friends to the game tables. Otherwise, the chat activities will be seen in the lobby for the public.

I like Yahoo! Games, where I can meet nice players and new friends. Wish you good luck on your games.

Have fun!

when you click on a players id..if you click on the ping button it tells you how fast their internet connection is.this is usually done when a player either stops playing in game=froze no ping,,or is very slow =ping takes several seconds to show.
