The person who is flying with me is 87 years old and does not drive any longer. What would a person like her use as an id.

If she doesn't drive, she can then get an official state ID card, available usually at the same places that you get DL's at. Minimal cost.

Most DMVs issue license-like cards to be used as ID by people who do not drive. An expired driver's license would probably be cause for suspicion given the heightened security these days.

That person needs to go the DMV of you state and get a state ID. It will be Valid ID. And expired license is NOT valid

You knew the answer was NO when you asked this question. You get it renewed or a State non drivers ID. Passport works too. Doesn't lady ever leave home or cash a check???? Get a new ID!!!!

she needs a state ID if your licence is expired it is no longer valid as a form of identification. just go to the DMV and surrender the old expired license and get a state ID

No. You need to have a current valid drivers license or valid state ID issed by the state.

Call the airline but I think the most important thing is that there is a picture ID, which that person has.

The author Bill Bryson wrote about his experiences. He tried to use an expired Iowa licence to get on a plane in New England, and it was rejected. ("So I won't ask to fly the plane", he replied.)

So I guess that means no, you can't.

no, get a state ID card...they are very strict lately...they don't even cash a check now...

It depends on who is helping you at the counter, some will take it some will not
