There is probably a fungal infection. Check with a doctor or skin specialist. In the mean while, soak your legs in warm water that has some shampoo, juice of 1 lemon and Hydrogen Peroxide. Lemon and Hydrogen Peroxide help prevent infections and make sure your toe nails are always cut to the skin level.

It seems to be a fungus infection under your nail. They sell antibacterial drops in the pharmacy. If the discoloration does not grow up with good nail coming in you need to see a podiatrist and he will prescribe a stronger cream and propbaly a oral antibiotic. It will take almost a year for your nail to grow out completely once you have stopped the infection.

Fungus..

If you didnt have the smell, only discoloration, I would advise you to just use a basecoat and buff the discoloration off. But the smell lets you know you have a fungus. Especially when you file and it smells like a wet dog..

It sounds like you have nail fungus. There are a number of products that you can buy at the store to treat it yourself, but the most effective medications are prescription medications. See a doctor.

Unfortunately, a fungus. See your docotor. Lamisil is prescribed most times for toenail fungus. But talk with the doctor to see what they suggest.
