body not much rust with very nice trim overall, runs and drive's very well, i'm wondering should i take the time to make the car even nicer by painting the body and repairing the seat and headliner, as well as the carpets, is this diesel model of the mercedes, a minumum value car, with not much resale value latter down the road, what do you think? also if any of you have ever purchased any after market body weather seals or replacment headliner's could you tell me about any affordable source's for such things, i have never restored a mercedes and have no parts leads on them at this time, THANKS for any help on this matter.

As you said, 240D does not have much of any collector interest and not much of resale value. It was sold in massive quantity, also. I believe 240D was before the age of galvanized body, so it is entirely possible three are many hidden rust spots.

As 240D is a diesel model, it is known to refuse to stop when engine is shut-off. (vacuum leak) Be sure to identify the emergency shut off valve under the hood before you start driving it....

im replacing the sunroof seal and its like 80.00
