first I +9 to both sides to get:
2(4x+3)=54
then I divide both sides by 2 to get:
4x+3=27
then subtract 3 from both sides to get:
4x=24
and divide by 4 to solve for x:
24/4=6

in accordance to my answer f(x) is incresing in open period (-inf,3) and (5,inf) and is lowering in period (3,5) i imagine you've discover incorrect periods . f(x) = x^3 - 12x^2 + 45x +9 f '(x) = 3x^2 - 24x +40 5 putting f ' (x) =0 3x^2 - 24x + 40 5 =0 x^2 - 8x+15 = 0 on factorising (x-3)(x-5) = 0 x=3 ,5 for this reason periods are (-inf,3) , (3,5) , (5,inf) once you get carry of the periods discover the signal of f ' (x) interior the following periods even if that's + then f(x) is increasing interior the following periods . and that's lowering if signal is - .

add nine to both sides to get54 on the right side of the equation

use distributive propery on the left side of the problem to get 8xplus 6

subtract 6 from both sides to get 8x=48.... then divide 8 from both sides to get x=1 over 6

8X+6-9=45

X = (45+9-6)/8

X = 48/8 = 6

I am assuming that it's not 45X, but it is 45 alone.
