I am in Japan now in Osaka and it has only a few times every lightly snowed here. Not enough to stick to the ground but lets say you go up north to Hokkaido and yes. There is also snowboarding and skiing around here so it does snow a little because it isn't all artificial but a lot of it is. The Southern parts like Okinawa never see the stuff and are like Australians on holiday when they see it. Nagano had the winter olympics.

Yes, do an internet search for Mount Fuji.
There are many snow-capped mountains in Japan. Japan has several world-class skiers.

yes--Mount Fuji is extremely photogenic when capped in snow. It's over 12,000 feet above sea level. Snow's not so good for skiing, as it's very heavy and wet. Even though the winter olympics were there, in general, the snow ain't all that great in my humble, champaign powder in Colorado, snooty-season-pass at Vail opinion. (Ha, just kidding--my pass is actually at Breck.)
