Knocked out of office? How would that happen? I "vote of no confidence" means nothing in our system so the only way he is leaving is if he or his boss decide he should go.

Why would Bush want to get rid of him? He is, and will continue, to play the perfect scapegoat. With an election coming it would be foolish to throw away a scapegoat card!

Donald Rumsfeld is the Secretary of Defense. This is not an elected position.... Therefore he will not be affected in the upcoming November elections. He will most likely leave his post along with the rest of the Bush Administration in 2009. Here is a good link to get some info on this position.

A yes-man.

By elections, do you mean Congressional elections?

Whether Rumsfeld stays or goes at this point is mostly irrelevant to the factors that will determine individual races, it is overall dissatisfaction with the Presidency that might swing a Democrat majority in the House or Senate.

Rumsfeld maybe wrong about high tech military being able to win the war on its own. His leaving will not change the fact that the area has to be stable for our way of life to continue.

If today's press was around during WWII we would be speaking either Deutsch or Japanese. I guess they feel like a priminister before Churchill.

Bush's dad. He and Rummy are about the same age and look kind of similar. Both equally unattractive. Unintelligent. Not well educated. Both use Old Spice.
