If you were straight and given the opportunity to be homosexual would you? I'm not talking about counseling classes. I'm talking about if there was some way to permanently change you from a straight person into a gay person, would you do it? Going from heterosexual to homosexual, is this something you would want to do?
Turn your question around, and you'll find that the response of straight people is most often a resounding no. Why do you think it would be different for gay people? Society's acceptance of us, or its revulsion, does not change our sexuality. It may make us more open, or more hidden, but it does not change the comfort level and happiness we find with our gay partners.
Your question is kind of like the "how do you know you're gay if you've never been with someone of the opposite sex" question. If you ask straight people the same question, e.g. "how do you know you're straight if you've never had gay sex" most of them are put off by the very suggestion. Gay people just are not that different from straight people in that way -- they are attracted to who they are attracted to -- and unless they're "bi" they would not consider sex with their opposite gender viable or desirable.

I wouldn't even think twice about it. Being straight would probably be easier but I love who I am and I wouldn't want to change for anything. There are people who would love it if I somehow turned straight, but I would rather be loved by the people that love me now. The ones that love me now are the ones that will always love me and the ones that I'll be able to turn to for anything. If I could turn straight I wouldn't, because it would be denying who I was for all these years, and I won't do that, not for anything or anyone.

Before I came out, my answer would have been yes.
Now it's no. It would certainly be easier to be straight, but I think dealing with the hardships of being gay has actually made me a more loving, compassionate person.

No I would not want that change. I have been on this life path and have learned so much from accepting myself and others that I don't want it to end. It is a very fulfilling experience. If not different in one way, each person is bound to be different in some other way.

I was married for many years and have had many male relationships. However they were all FAILED relationships. The love of my life is a woman, and this is the best relationship I"ve ever had.
We have great sex, we are best friends, she is the masochist to my sadism, we share our families and kids, we love to decorate our houses and shop for shoes. We can openly cry, laugh and fight. I trust her with my life and she trusts me.
If being in a relationship with a man could simply be better because he has plumbing on the outside, I say I can do a better job with my strap on.
Women rule.

Well, i have come to terms of acceptance of myself, so i would debate this.
if you would have asked me 3 months ago, there is no doubt i would have said yes.
anyways, but as for now.. i don't know... that's like changing who i am just to satisfy others, you know? but then again, i t would be a lot easier on me.
i would have to say, no, i wouldn't, but i would consider it and maybe keep it open on the table.

ok first of all, i'm straight. But if i was somehow to be gay(which would never happen but let's just assume), I'd definitely change back to straight, without even thinking. Gosh it's the human nature to be straight dude. The United States and the American people are too nice, way too nice. Sheeze you go to other places in the world and be openly gay, I don't even think you're gonna make it home alive... now... how come the United States has the highest homo population in the world, simply speaking... we're way too easy on them folks. In other places, one word: Irradiation. So much that the people would "afraid" to be gay and it would eventually "Extinct" from the place. :)
