What ever it takes. However ther is nothing wrong with using KY jelly or some other vaginal cream. It is a common problem and yes it can be very painful. Husbands just don't always understand that you are not saying NO to them you are saying NO to the pain.

Women generally need more foreplay than men to become sexually aroused and become lubricated. this will vary with various women but maybe 15 minutes of kissing and petting should be a beginning. Now there is another factor involved in this and that is as women age they some time loss the lubrication so some women use other lubricates to help with this problem. Sex should never be rushed with women. It is not pleasurable and can be down right painful when it is rushed. No amount of lubricate can make up for impatience on the male's part. rushing even can make a women loss the desire to even have sex. Have you ever heard the song "I need a lover with a slow hand, I need a lover with the easy touch, When it comes to love I want a slow hand"? That is the secret to a woman enjoying sex. So as far as I am concerned the longer the foreplay the better before fantastic sex.

well it depends on the girl. it can take anywhere from 5 minutes to 20 mintues to really get things going. it can take longer and it can take less but what it comes down to is the girl and how her brain/body work. but if you dry out during it may be you dont drink enough water or that your guy need to have some lubricant ready so that you can enjoy the second half of your little get together.

I'm not a doctor - just a woman who knows what you're talking about - and I need a lot of kissing and foreplay (at least 30 minutes) before I'm ready to go - and even then I still need some KY. (sorry hope that wasn't too graphic).

It varies from person to person.
I wish there was a clear cut answer for you, but there really isn't.
The way to totally be sure of prevention is using a personal lubricant.
